How You Can Help

You Can Help Today

Every year, countless cats in Plainfield and beyond need our help. As a rescue organization, we receive frequent requests to intervene in situations where cats are living outdoors or where kittens have been found. While we are always touched to know the community cares, it is important to recognize that no single person or rescue can meet this need alone.

Rescue work is often misunderstood. Many envision a team of staff or unlimited resources, but the reality is quite different. Our work is volunteer-driven, and much of it falls on individuals who balance colony care, fostering, veterinary appointments, transport, and their own households. This model can only succeed if the wider community embraces shared responsibility.

When someone reaches out about cats in need, the most powerful question they can ask is not “what can you do?” but rather “how can I help?” By becoming part of the process, whether that means assisting with trapping, transporting to clinics, fostering, or providing supplies, community members become true partners in change.

The future of community cat care depends on this collaboration. Together, we can ensure more cats are safely spayed, neutered, and cared for. Together, we can prevent suffering. Together, we can make lasting change.
